Job PurposeTo support National Grid in achieving its strategic objectives, by providing assurance over the key controls and mitigating activities that the organization relies on to manage risk.
The Risk Analyst will be responsible for planning, executing and reporting on wide variety of risks supported by Managers.
Key AccountabilitiesSupport and challenge the business on risk identification and risk assessment including emerging risks.
Provide advice and training support on risk management techniques and internal control design.
Execute controls testing, documentation and reporting in line with good practice guidance.
Ability to prepare comprehensive, clear, concise reports and communicate findings with stakeholders to reach agreed remediation plans.
Proactively look for areas of improvement and provide value adding and insightful recommendations on process and controls improvements.
Communicate with Managers to avoid surprises, highlight issues and ensure timely delivery.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Requiredo Demonstrable commitment to integrity and ethical valueso Ability to be flexible and agile to changing conditions with strong organizational skills QualificationsRisk Analysts should bring internal and/or external audit experience and a good understanding of risk management, business processes, and controls, to contribute to the risk plan and deliver risk management work and value adding insights to improve the overall control environment, practices and risk culture in the organization.
Good communication skills, both written (documentation and reporting) and verbal.
Strong technical risk management skills, understanding of risk assessment techniques, internal control frameworks, 3 Lines model, and controls testing as well as broader business acumenGood planning, project management skills.

years of relevant work experience, including Internal or External Audit, or SOx with a Big 4 or Medium-sized consultancy or Internal Audit in a large company (preferably Energy/Utilities).
Strong knowledge and understanding of risk management prevailing practice, business processes, internal controls, and controls testing methodologies.
Technology experience including data analytics (e.
g.
ACL) and visualization tools (e.
g.
Power BI, Tableau) a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or relevant field.
Professional certification or equivalent in relevant area (e.
g.
Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant) or working towards qualification.
